Pizza is one of the most popular fast-food options in the U.S. A franchise to consider is Aurelio's Pizza. The Illinois- based pizza place was founded in 1959. Since pizza was relatively new the time, the business would sell only 6 to 7 pizza a day and would focus on Italian beef sandwiches. That changed after the founders made changes to the dough and sauce recipe and began using homemade sasage. Joe worked tirelessly seven days a week and worked as the cook, waiter and delivery guy while building his reputation one customer at a time. After gaining more steam, Joe needed to expand from a small storefront with four table and a kitchen with an oven. He found two adjoining store fronts. The first half housed the bar and kitchen, and the second half was geared towards a younger crowd with a jukebox, large picnic table top seating and walls covered in headlines. In 1974, Aurelio's Pizza became the first Chicago pizzeria to franchise its concept and the fifth
overall in the U.S. Fast forward to today, and the family pizza business has expanded across the country and has served more than five generations of customers. The brand is looking for passionate entrepreneurs who value customer service, producing a quality product, and giving back to the community. Franchisees benefit from a simple menu, higher margins with beer and alcohol sales, and multiple revenue streams, including catering, carry-out, delivery and
branded merchandise. They also benefit from an exclusive territory to decrease their competition in the area.
